This stunning looking beach – easily one of the best-looking in the UK – would invariably be packed with visitors if it were more easily reached.

Standing in the dunes and looking across the expanse of sand you’ll feel removed from civilisation. The beach has been used for many films and music videos including ‘Shakespeare in Love’ (Gwyneth Paltrow) and the All Saints’ number one hit ‘Pure Shores’.

The vast sandy stretch is flanked by a nature reserve with plenty of walking trails through the saltmarshes and scented pinewoods where you’ll spot rare birds and stunning native wildflowers such as orchids and sea lavender.

The nearest toilet facilities are a short drive away, at the pretty port of Wells-next-the sea. For more extensive facilities, park at Holkham Hall, where you’ll also find a play area, a café and a museum.
