In this post I take a look at some useful wet-weather products.
Regatta Packaway Trousers II
What the web says: Regatta’s overtrousers are made from Isolite fabric, offering both waterproof and breathable ability. They’re full of protective features including an elasticated waist, taped seams and pressed studs at the hem.
Colours: black & laurel
My Verdict: My missus has had a pair of these for years and for the money they’ve been amazing. Best bit is that they roll up into the pack to stow in your bag and are super lightweight.
KoziKidz PU Essential Rain Set
What the web says: Kozi Kidz award winning PU rainwear is the perfect outer layer for maximum protection from the rain. The outer material also has a 4 way stretch to give freedom of movement, just the thing for active kids.
Size: 12 months – 8 years
Colours: yellow, navy & red
My verdict: I’ve got toddler twins who just love jumping in muddy puddles; these suits are just great – as you can imagine they’ve thoroughly tested them!
Overboard Waterproof Phone Case
What the web says: Our 100% waterproof Slide Seal System™ combined with a transparent front and LENZFLEX back means you can browse, chat or snap away while your SMART Phone or Phablet device is safely sealed inside the waterproof pouch.
Size: up to iPhone 7 plus
Colours: blue & black
My verdict: Whilst my phone says it’s “splash and water resistant” it’s not waterproof. This case is a bargain at less than £20 and works well when you’re out walking/hiking etc.
Plemo Compact Travel Umbrella
What the web says: Light and compact: Fully opened at a diameter of 34.6 Inches, closed at 6.9 Inches. Adults' palm size, perfect for you to carry. Easily fit in backpack or purse yet still light weight
My verdict: A great little lightweight umbrella that doesn’t feel like it’ll turn inside out at the slightest gust.
Overboard Dry Bag
What the web says: Thanks to our clever Fold Seal System™ and fully welded seams, you can get as wet, sandy or muddy as you like without your valuables suddenly becoming worthless.
Capacity: 5 litres
My verdict: I’ve been using dry bags for years out on the water – this is super lightweight and as bonus you can see your kit!
